Hosted by Russell Goodyear and his girls, the Christmas Quiz attracted the maximum number of teams allowed in the hall.
The winners were ‘Snow Idea’ sharing £200, second were Stevie’s Wonders sharing £50 and by tradition the losing team, Santa’s Sleighers, were awarded wooden spoons!
Some of the afternoon tea regulars had a crafting session creating the hall’s contribution to the village Advent calendar. Great fun was had, accompanied by copious tea and cake, which was a coffee birthday cake with candle!
Here’s the finished result on a theme of the 7 dwarfs coming home for tea.
Do take the time to walk round the village over the Christmas holiday to see everyone’s contribution to the calendar.
The Christmas Jumper Bingo was a very happy occasion enjoyed by a full house of attendees. It included lots of ‘five gold rings’, several ‘happy birthdays’, the switching on of the hall’s Christmas lights and culminated in a grand prize of £200!
The Langley Vale Village Hall hosted the Christmas Market and everyone was welcomed, with tea, coffee, cakes and mulled wine available, and all were invited to come a join in the festive fun, and see santa and his elves 🌲🎅🤶🎄🧑🎄🎁
With the Church still out of use, the Remembrance Service this year was held in the village hall. The last post was played by Cliff and the names of those from the village lost during the wars were read out.
Some comments made :
‘It was such a lovely traditional service and I really think it’s bringing people together. Thank you to everyone who helped.
The numbers are creeping up all the time.
Janet said it was the best remembrance service ever. 🌺xx’
In addition to mark the occasion, poppies were attached to some of the lampposts and the post box was given a special crocheted topper

As the Church is still out of use waiting on a decision about repairs from the Diocese, the Harvest Festival was held in the Village Hall this year. After the service, the donated food and toiletries were taken to LeatherHEAD START - they provide Emergency Direct Access to short-term accommodation for Homeless Men and Women and sent a very grateful thank you letter in reply.
