As many of you will know the village hall lease expires next year. The hall was built in 1967, funded and built by the villagers, brick by brick. It has been rent free for the last 55 years, but the lease determined that we had to pass the land AND the hall back to the church at the end of the lease.
The village hall committee have been in negotiations with the church for the last 12 months,. There was a fear the church would not renew the lease and develop the land and build houses and this would leave a gaping hole in our village life with no central village community hub.
We have good news! We have successfully agreed a new 10-year lease, at a rent of £100 per month, with no rent review during this period. Therefore, the hall will remain open and a place for the gentle folk of Langley Vale to gather and enjoy the facilities. We still have work to do - our next major job is to upgrade the electrics which will enable the defibrillator to be fitted to the outside wall.
I want to thank all of the committee members for their continued hard work on the renewal and running the village hall. A special thank you to Sharon Watkinson, who has been invaluable in providing information and paperwork to assist with our negations. Many Thanks

A really well attended Bingo session on a horribly wet Friday night meant for a very happy and fun session.
This attendance made it possible to give a whopping prize of £150 for the final winner of the evening.
Congratulations to all 12 winners of the line and full-house prizes!
A great morning at the village hall, lots of painting and we moved a new piano into the hall!
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Nicky, Tracey, Helen, Matt, Russell, Frances, Debbie, Heidi, Juliette, Malcom, Matthew, Dylan and Benjamin. Well done guys!

Congratulations to our winners and a massive thank you for your ongoing support of the Supporters Club Village Hall Lottery 🙏🏽
The goal was reached very quickly thanks to everyone’s generosity. It will be installed on the outside of the Village Hall in a couple of weeks ( 11 July -). This will allow access 24/7. Watch Facebook and this website for news of upcoming short training course on first aid and how to operate it.
Ongoing funding will be needed for future maintenance So please keep supporting events.
The Fair was a joint enterprise between the Hall and the Vale School.
The Hall part of the Fair was opened by Mrs Johanna (Joosje) Hamilton DL one of the Deputy Lieutenants of Surrey accompanied by our Chairman, Sean Porter.
Cutting the ribbon.
After the Fair, Helen Sage thanked everyone who had taken part and supported the event.
The Fairy Stall from where children could obtain a map and wand to help them navigate the Fairy Trail along the roads towards the school and into the woods.
Followed by photos of a selection of the other stalls set up both in the hall and outside.
From Sean Porter:
Thank you volunteers, the hall is looking great and very modern, just one and a half more sides to go! A big shout out to Debbie, Frances, Jane, Heidi, David and Russ. Your painting was very much appreciated and I hope the beer 🍺 and fizz 🍾 went down well. Sean and The LVVH committee 👍🏻
From Jane Wood:
Following Sean’s post and looking proudly at the difference we have made to our village hall, I have to say I really enjoyed my couple of hours painting! Very sociable and finished off with a nice chat and a glass of fizz, what’s not to like?
We’d love to meet more fellow villagers so look out for the next paint date and come and join us….it’s our hall and all we need to look after it.
One side completed parts of the back and far side started but still more to do .
Please come and help when the request goes out again.
It will be 23 July!

Promoted by Age Concern, Epsom these teas are aimed at encouraging people who might not get out much to enjoy company, chat and tea with others from the community. It is planned that they will take place on the first and third Wednesday of the month.
The first tea was hosted on 20th April by Heidi Potter and Elaine Dunne ably assisted by Juliet Gaule and Malcolm Dunne. The company and tea were enjoyed by those who attended and the talk by the representative of Age Concern about the many types of assistance on offer from this charity was really enlightening.
Congratulations to all the winners of the first Village Hall Supporters Club Lottery of 2022 and thank you for everyone’s continued support
The hope was to have lots of help and get a lot done but it all took longer than planned with only a small team.
As Sean reported on Facebook we ‘managed to get halfway through one side, looks far more modern in charcoal grey, thank you to Russell, Nicky, Debbie, Juliette, Malcolm, Jane, Aline, Chris and Olivia for all of your hard work. More painting dates to follow 🎨 🖌 🪜 from the LVVH committee 👍🏻 — at Langley Vale Village Hall’
